Bridging visas

A Bridging visas is a temporary visa. It allows you to stay in Australia after your current  visa ceases and while your new visa application is being processed. A bridging visa will allow you  to have lawful status while in Australia.

It is important that your current visa is valid, if your visa has lapsed you must inform the Department of Immigration and Border Protection immediately to explore your options

BVA

Visa subclass 010

A BVA  visa keeps you lawful in Australia  if your current visa is about to expire, has expired or if you are waiting for a decision from the DIBP.

If you are have been granted a DVA visa and you must leave the country you must obtain a DVB in order to re-enter Australia on your return.
